Oneness vs. Separateness

By Dan Hogan ・ Published: April 14, 2022 ・ Last Update: November 22, 2022 ・ 2 minutes to read

Oneness is a psychological state of mind. It can be described in many ways using phrases such as

None of us is as smart as all of us.

Do No Harm. Work as One.

Separateness is the opposite of Oneness. To become a Right-Minded teammate, you must train your mind to choose attitudes and behaviors that create and extend Oneness, not project separateness.

For a list of 30 examples of Oneness, see the Right-Minded Teamwork Attitudes & Behaviors list found in numerous RMT books.

Reason, Ego & the Right-Minded Teamwork Myth - Philosophy and Process

The concepts and story behind Oneness and separateness are introduced in RMT’s book, Reason, Ego & the Right-Minded Teamwork Myth: The Philosophy and Process for Creating a Right-Minded Team That Works Together as One.

In this book, you will learn about Ego’s “tiny, mad idea” of wanting more “stuff” and how Ego’s choices led us all into a world of separation. That tiny, mad moment was, literally, the birth of separation.

But, as the Myth reveals, Reason is always ready to lead us back into Oneness – our pre-separation state – joyfully described as the Unified Circle of Right-Minded Thinking where we can do no harm and work as one.
