Do No Harm. Work as One. ® 🕊️

By Dan Hogan ・ 2 minutes to read

Do No Harm. Work as One.® is the fundamental philosophical foundation of Right-Minded Teamwork (RMT)®.

This universal truth is the key to creating and sustaining peace, high performance, and enduring team success. This aspirational philosophy works in conjunction with the second core principle of RMT: None of us is as smart as all of us.

The principle “None of us is as smart as all of us” means Right-Minded Teammates achieve superior results by consistently accessing their collective wisdom.

  • Work as One requires a genuine commitment to working collaboratively in a Right-Minded manner, applying Right-Minded Attitudes and Behaviors.
  • This approach is the only sustainable way to achieve and maintain 100% customer satisfaction by leveraging the knowledge and skills of every team member.
  • It is rooted in the attitude of teammate Oneness, which clarifies roles, responsibilities, and shared goals.

Do No Harm: Accountability Over Blame

Do No Harm defines the manner in which teammates interact while striving for their shared goals. It is the practical guide for behavior, requiring emotional maturity and accountability.

A Right-Minded Teammate can be firm, caring, direct, gentle, and compassionate, all at the same time. Crucially, this principle rejects the Battleground philosophy, where mistakes are punished by forbidding blame.

  • You do not blame yourself or others for mistakes. Instead, you address them as opportunities for learning and correction within the Classroom environment.
  • Teammates are viewed as allies, not adversaries, working together towards shared goals rather than competing or attacking one another.

The entire Right Choice Model is built on the willingness and ability to uphold this simple, powerful standard: Do No Harm, Work as One. By embracing this philosophy, teams transform their culture. It’s not that hard to ensure every decision and interaction supports both the internal well-being of the team and the external success of the organization.
