Teamwork Implementation: Quick Start & Standard Plans

As a leader, you don’t need to study all eight RMT books to begin your journey. You simply need to decide which path is right for your team today. Whether you are facing a specific Ego-driven conflict or seeking to elevate your team’s overall effectiveness, there is a Reason-led plan to help you.

Two Paths to the Right-Minded Aspiration

Both implementation plans are designed to help you live the RMT Aspiration: Do No Harm & Work as One®.

Path 1: The Quick Start Plan (For Focused Improvement)

The Quick Start Plan is designed for “early wins.” It allows the Decision-Maker to address a single, pressing issue without a long-term commitment.

“Just conducted your Work Agreement workshop. Went great… They now have a wonderful common language and could follow your decision-making model.” — Vickie, Team Coach.

The Quick Start Steps:

  1. Identify: Pinpoint one teamwork issue that needs addressing, improving, or correcting.
  2. Facilitate: Hold your first workshop to define the problem. Once the team agrees on the root cause, you discuss and agree on solutions that result in a Team Work Agreement.
  3. Live: All teammates actively live the Agreement, track progress, and measure improvement results.
  4. Repeat: Conduct a second workshop in a few weeks or a month or two to maintain the momentum of Reason.

Path 2: The Standard Implementation Plan (For Lasting Transformation)

While there is no “one right way” to implement RMT, this plan has proven effective countless times for teams seeking a deep, structural shift in how they work.

The Standard Roadmap:

  • Orientation: A short meeting to prepare the team and align expectations.
  • Announce the Three Strategic Workshops:
    • These sessions establish your Work Agreements,
    • Refine your Team Operating System, and
    • Focus on Teammate Development.
  • 90-Day Continuous Improvement: After the workshops, the team enters a 90-day cycle of assessing performance and making needed adjustments to stay on the path of Reason.
