Accept, Forgive, Adjust are the three core, non-negotiable mindsets that define the essential attitudes and actions of a Right-Minded Teammate.

These three tenets are central to the definition of Right-Minded Teamwork (RMT): a business-oriented, psychological approach where acceptance, forgiveness, and adjustment are teammate characteristics, and 100% Customer Satisfaction is the result.

These mindsets are essential for successfully unlearning “wrong-minded” attitudes, resolving conflict, and consistently committing to the RMT aspiration: Do No Harm, Work as One®.

🧠 Central to RMT Thinking and Behavior

These three internal concepts are utilized in two key RMT resources:

7 Mindfulness Training Lessons

1. The 7 Mindfulness Training Lessons

The essence of the 7 Mindfulness Training LessonsAchieving Right-Minded Teamwork involves adopting an attitude of mindfulness. These 7 Lessons teach how to do no harm and work as one. More is summarized in the phrase: Right-Minded Teammates accept, forgive, and adjust their thinking and work behavior. By practicing mindfulness and inviting a moment of Reason, teammates are freed from judgment and are ready to apply these mindsets.

2. The Right Choice Model

These three concepts form the five accountable and responsible steps of the “upper loop” path of the Right Choice Model. This path moves the team away from the wrong-minded victim cycle of Avoid, Reject, Attack, Defend, and Retreat.

How to Apply the Right Choice Model Create a Right-Minded Team That Works as One
  • Accept: This step is about acknowledging and “owning your part” in the situation. High-performing teams ask, “How have I created, promoted, or allowed this situation to occur?”
  • Forgive: Once acceptance is made, teammates must forgive and let go of what has happened. Forgiveness is key to happiness because it releases teammates from the need to blame and allows the team to focus on fixing the situation from the present moment forward.
  • Adjust: Acknowledging, accepting, and forgiving frees the team to adjust their attitudes without self-judgment and come up with viable alternative solutions. Teammates trust their Decision-Maker’s intuition and create a new, solution-focused Work Agreement.

By consistently applying this mindset, teams quickly move into a problem-resolving mode, declaring their interdependence and commitment to Reason.
