Agreement Review Moments

By Dan Hogan ・ 1 minute to read

Definition

A brief, systematic team ritual to periodically review, reinforce, and sustain the Work Agreements the team created.

Purpose

Agreement Review Moments are essential for preventing “agreement fade.” By dedicating a short time (often 1–5 minutes) during a regular team meeting, the team actively engages with their own agreements. During an ARM, teammates:

  1. Reflect and Recommit: They reflect on one specific Work Agreement and recommit to living it.
  2. Share Examples: They share real-world examples of how the agreement is currently being honored or where they may have missed the mark.
  3. Clarify and Modify: They seize the opportunity to edit, clarify, or update the original Work Agreements as needed.

This process ensures that accountability remains collaborative, not punitive, keeping the team’s desired culture and behaviors top-of-mind.
