Right-Minded Teamwork requires the right attitude and work behavior. In this article you will find over 30 that will help you and your teammates achieve the 2nd Element – Psychological Goal and the 5th Element – Right-Minded Teammates.
The five elements of Right-Minded Teamwork are:
- Business Goal
- Psychological Goal
- Work Agreements
- Team Operating System
- Right-Minded Teammates
They are arranged in this formula: 2 Goals + 3 Methods = 100% Team Customer Satisfaction
When you “think” about it, you will agree that your attitude will always proceed your work behavior.
Right-Minded attitudes come from Reason. Wrong-minded attitudes come from Ego.
In this article, you will find a list of both right and wrong attitudes. They are grouped in the three Right-Minded Teamwork methods.
On one side you will see the right attitude and on the other side you’ll see the wrong attitude.
For example, here are three compared attitudinal choices:
- Collaboration and synergy versus contrary competition and power struggles
- Converting mistakes into learning opportunities rather than punishing other teammates
- Forgiving and letting go of difficult team situations versus holding grievances.
The good news is the right-minded attitudes are natural and are already inside you and your teammates. When you read any of the wrong-minded Ego attitudes, ask yourself: Was I born with these attitudes? Your answer will be “no.” The truth is, you learned those wrong-minded attitudes from the Ego.
There is no definitive list, because each team who chooses to achieve Right-Minded Teamwork must discuss, define and agree on their own set of attitudes. Those attitudes will be described in their own personal a set of team Work Agreements.
Don’t let your team’s tiny teamwork squabbles prevent you from accomplishing your mission to meet or exceed your customers’ expectations. Rise above the petty teamwork battleground issues.
It’s not easy sometimes, but it is far better to collaborate and win versus argue and lose.
When your team is not collaborating or functioning at its best, you are following wrong-minded principles. Wrong-mindedness has gotten in your way.
Therefore, the fundamental purpose of Right-Minded Teamwork can be simply re-stated as the removal of wrong-minded beliefs that are in your way of embracing the truth that YOUR team CAN work as ONE.
Right-Minded Teamwork is a business oriented plus a psychological approach to team building where acceptance, forgiveness and adjustment are teammate characteristics and customer satisfaction is the team’s result.
